The PEI Humane Society is the Island’s only shelter for homeless, injured and lost companion animals. They assist over 1,600 companion animals each year, providing the following services:
- an adoption program
- lost and found companion animal services
- emergency housing for animals belonging to this in crisis
- 24 hour response for animals in distress
- investigation of animal welfare complaints
- enforcing legislation and bylaws for animal control
Sponsoring a kennel at the PEI Humane Society means that with your help, we are responsible for the care and upkeep of a warm, safe space for over three dozen animals every year. Kennel sponsors ensure that the Humane Society has enough food, blankets and toys for the hundreds of animals in their care every month.
SAFE - Sober And Friendly Environment
SAFE is a place for people to socialize in the evening hours without the temptation of drugs or alcohol while fostering community connections to help gain and sustain recovery.
Karaoke, puzzles, pool tables, and musical instruments are just a few of the resources available at SAFE. It is a great place to make connections and have some fun! If you are trying to find recovery and looking for a safe space to socialize, we recommend stopping by! And, if you have found recovery or simply want to support a worthy cause with your time, we suggest you look into volunteering.
It is our hope that donations such as ours, made possible by our clients, will allow this space to grow and to continue offering hope to our community.
Hope Happens Here: Women’s Wellness Retreat
Established in 2023 by Cancer Thrivers Michelle Hughes and Jennie Arsenault, Hope Happens Here is a women's wellness retreat for cancer survivors, conquerors, and thrivers to come together, fostering a sense of community and belonging for those personally touched by cancer. Featuring several guest speakers, facilitators, and individuals united by the common goal of providing hope, support, and a sense of community, the Hope Happens Here retreat aims to leave attendees feeling empowered and connected.
This retreat is offered at no charge to these deserving attendees. As a breast cancer survivor herself, Carolyn has a special connection to this event. She was invited to attend the very first retreat in May, 2024 and came away with a renewed hope for her future. We are humbled to have the opportunity to sponsor such a meaningful event.
